Register for Winter Camps
The black bears of the Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary (YWS) in Red Lodge, Montana are fast asleep, enjoying their hibernation. But despite the snow, ice, and freezing temperatures, there is still a lot going on at the Sanctuary. After the success of Junior Keepers Camp this summer, YWS is starting off the New Year with the return of camp activities for school age children every weekend in February, giving kids the opportunity to see what wildlife does when winter comes!

Each weekend will feature a different theme reflecting Greater Yellowstone wildlife and how various species have adapted for surviving the harsh cold of winter. Campers will get to see firsthand how bobcats and hares benefit from their natural snowshoes, where reptiles and amphibians go during winter, and much more.
