Special Matinee

5:00 pm

The Roman Theater in Red Lodge will host the first sneak-preview of an independent film from director Tom Seidman, whose sister Margaret Williams is a Red Lodge resident. The movie (the title of which has not be released) is a suspense/adventure/thriller set in the Mojave desert, and follows six contestants in a desert survival reality show that goes, in the words of the director, “very, very badly”.

The “sneak” will take place at 5:00 pm, Sunday, August 31st, at the Roman. The film is 96 minutes long and is expected to be rated PG-13, for language and intense situations. Admission is free and open to the public on a first-come-first-served basis. Audience members will be asked to fill out a brief survey after the screening, to gage audience reaction and assist the producers with marketing.

“The film was shot entirely in the Mojave desert region of California,” says Seidman, “under very difficult conditions. But it makes for some stunning locations.” The reality show within the film is hosted by Erik Estrada, the former star of the hit 80's television series “ChiPs”, who appeared in one of this year's most widely-watched SuperBowl commercials for Radio Shack.

Tom Seidman is a long-time resident of Los Angeles and has written, produced and/or directed several feature films, including The Hazing with Academy-Award nominated actor Brad Dourif, and The Christmas Bunny starring former Brady Bunch mom Florence Henderson. Previous to his work as a writer/director, Seidman was an assistant director on such films as Honkytonk Man (for director Clint Eastwood), The Dead Poets Society, and Ordinary People, which received the Academy Award for Best Picture.
