THE PEDAL FESTIVAL IS BEING POSTPONED FOR 2008 - WE WILL SEE YOU AGAIN IN 2009!
Sunday morning at Red Lodge Mountain begins the race day with this 8-18 mile Cross Country Race up and down the trails of the ski area. Spectators can watch competitors start, finish, and at midway points of the race and are welcome to hike the course for special views. Competitors must be in top physical condition for this course of heart pumping uphills and hair raising downhills.
The premier event of the entire festival, our downhill ‘ROCKS’! Considered by area enthusiasts as the best course on the Intermountain West, this trail tests the mettle of the extreme athlete to the fullest. Practice runs and two timed runs ensure the spectator a lot of fun as well.
Downhill competiors will ride the Triple Chair and spectators can purchase boot passes for the lift as well fort the best vantage at choice spots along the course. The competitor's bikes but no persons will be shuttled via the service road.
Saturday afternoon at Sam's Tap Room brings this test of balance, skill and bravery. This obstacle course of unbelievable construction, including logs, rocks, stumps, ramps and all manner of obstructions challenge competitors to clear the course without fault or fear. A spectator favorite, this contest is always a crowd pleaser.
Area tricksters display their skill and bravery with ramps designed for maximum velocity and gargantuan air in which to perform their best moves ~ truly has to be seen to be believed!
Bike Parade for old and young alike ~ bring your human powered transport and a smile to share with the public and join the fun up and down Broadway. We provide the candy, you provide the spectacle!
