No there are not really any jobs there unless you want to work at stillwater mine. I have lived there for 5 yrs. plus you also have to take into consideration that there is also a 3% resort tax both residence and non have to pay so it is expensive to live there. my best bet is to look at is that were you want to live cause there is not really anything for your kids to do if you have any.

I totally disagree... there are jobs available if you are willing to be versatile... maybe not tons of jobs at your fingertips, but there are plenty of us living here (12+ years) that make a decent living. As far as the 3% resort tax - this is only on "tourist" goods - it is not on food, or other essential living purchases... only on souvenir type goods (besides, it is still a lot less than many places - like CO where it is 7-9%) As for things for kids to do - there are plenty! The schools are good and there are many extra-curricular activities offered through the school with traditional sports, clubs etc. and through other local businesses - there is a dance studio, taekwondo school, girl/boy scouts, soccer program, and more, including a very active Boys and Girls Club.

I would have to disagree with what you said about there only being a 3% tax just only things that have redlodge on it like shot glasses and stuff like that, but when I lived there the people also had to pay the 3% sales tax as well that included food also so I don't know how long you have lived there unless things have changed then it is news to me.

I have lived in Red Lodge for more than 10 years... let me clarify... there is tax charged on food served at a restaurant, but there is NO TAX on groceries...

Helllo,

I've been following this message board regarding relocating and having visited Red Lodge a few months ago, trust that if I move there, I will find work.  Susanelle

I am also interested in moving to Red Lodge this winter.
I already have a job linded up for the spring (April).
Would anyone here have any leads on somthing for this winter so I can go ahead and make my move?
I usually work construction, but I am willing to try new things.
Me and my gal are wanting to move in December.
We are both in our mid 40's.
Any leads or advise would be wonderful!
Thanks in advance.

Ken
