Solo Exhibit: Dale Marie Muller

The Guild presents a one-woman show of the artwork of Dale Marie Muller, a local wildlife artist who has made her mark as one of today's most promising young painters. Dale's canvases portray life in the wild with the realism and honesty of a true nature lover. She uses great precision and expertise, skillfully capturing the essence of the animal and brings life to her compelling oil paints and graphite drawings. She says, "There isn't anything more magnificent than our natural world, whether it be city or country. I strive to absorb it all and share it with others through my paintings. My greatest gift is my honest dedication to preserve our wilderness and all its wondrous creatures. I feel blessed to forever learn, Mother Nature never stops teaching."

Fun Run for Charities

The annual Fun Run will take place Saturday, September 4th. Our hope is that you will contribute to our Arts Guild as your charity of choice by going to www.rlacf.org. For each donation to the Fun Run, we will receive matching funds and this will go towards the expansion of all our present programs and help in the initiation of new ones. With community help, this is what we have accomplished at the Art Guild this past year:
- We continue to offer educational programs and workshops for youth
- Our summer art camps for children have grown and continue with 33 attending this year
- Local artists continue to lead adult workshops
- New artists find us and become members - we now have 330 artists members.
Awards for Fun Run funds will be given Thursday, October 14th.

Thank you for your support!

Beartooth Harley-Davidson/Buell Red Lodge Location Closing for Winter Season after Labor Day 2010

Beartooth Harley-Davidson/Buell’s satellite location in Red Lodge will be closed for the winter season. It has been determined that due to the nature of the riding season in the summer months, our efforts to best serve our customers will be sustained at the Billings dealership during the off-season. This will allow for better selection and service under one roof instead of two during the winter months where riding may not be possible. The last day the store will be open for the summer season will be Monday, September 6, 2010 (Labor Day), and will re-open next spring.

Walk by the Light of the Bat Moon

The Beartooth Ranger District introduces the new “Walk By the Light of the Moon” series of interpretive walks, which will be held every season of the year. Please join our interpreters and naturalists for an evening of exploration and wonders on these walks in the moonlight. Interpreters range from foresters to biologists, from scientists to historians, from poets to storytellers.

Many of the walks are a night or two before the full moon to take advantage of the earlier moonrise. The walks will often be located along a trail, with one or more interpreters located along the route of one-half to 2 miles on easy terrain.

Generally, moon walks will have staggered, flexible start and end times to allow visitors to participate at their own pace, in smaller more intimate groups. Participants may want to bring binoculars and a flashlight in case the moon does not cooperate. Anticipate the weather and dress accordingly.

Below are the topics that will be featured during the 2010 series. All locations will be determined as the dates near.
Wednesday, September 22nd – Bat Moon at 6:30 p.m.
Friday, October 22nd – Community Moon at 6:30 p.m.
